Choosing commercial lvt and vinyl plank

Glue-down or floating for a commercial job?

All 139 floors can be glued down, and 138 can also float. Glue-down is the usual choice for heavy rolling loads, large open floor plates and storefronts with strong sun through glass, because the floor stays put and a damaged plank can be cut out and replaced. Floating is faster in occupied apartments and over slabs that need a sound-control underlayment. Our installation guide compares the two.

What matters for rental units and turnovers?

Landlords tend to want one or two colors they can reorder across many units, a matte surface that hides scuffs between tenants, and a floor a crew can replace room by room. A mid-tone blonde or neutral brown usually shows the least wear and suits the widest range of tenants. Ask about each product's commercial rating, and buy some extra cartons for future repairs, since product lines do change.

What do co-op and condo buildings require?

Many buildings require board approval and an underlayment that meets a stated sound rating before work starts. Get the flooring section of the alteration agreement early and match the underlayment to it. Our guide to co-op and condo sound rules explains IIC and STC ratings.

How do you start a trade order?

Send room measurements, the substrate (slab, plywood or existing tile), whether units are occupied, and your schedule. The trade and commercial page has a form for samples and project quotes. We work with your own crew, or with an installer we have trusted for years.

Is LVT a good choice for rental apartments?

It is one of the most common choices because it resists water, cleans easily and lets you replace damaged sections. Check each product's specifications for the traffic level it is suited to.

Can I use the same floor across several units over time?

Many landlords standardize on one floor for that reason. Product lines change, so keep spare cartons for repairs and confirm availability with us before each phase.

Do you work with contractors and property managers?

Yes. Trade buyers can request samples and a project quote through our trade page, and we usually send a quote within one business day.
