Light and blonde vinyl plank flooring

This collection holds 57 light vinyl plank floors from MSI Surfaces: 47 blonde tones and 10 beiges. Most have a matte finish, a few are low-luster, and widths are 7 or 9 inches. Each can be floated or glued down. Choose these when you want a small or dim room to feel larger, or a pale Scandinavian look without the upkeep of light wood.

Choosing light and blonde vinyl plank flooring

Blonde or beige: what is the difference?

Here, blonde means the pale straw and natural oak tones that read close to unfinished wood. Beige has more sand or gray in it and sits more quietly beside off-white walls. Blonde brightens a room more. Beige is the easier pick if your trim, tile or countertops already lean warm and creamy.

Will a light floor make a small apartment feel bigger?

Usually, yes. A pale floor bounces light around the room, and with less contrast between planks the floor reads as one surface. That helps in railroad apartments, small bedrooms and rooms with a single window. Light floors do show dark dirt like tracked-in grit, so a good doormat at the entry earns its place.

Matte or low-luster?

Matte hides scuffs and fine scratches best and looks the most like oiled wood. Low-luster adds a slight sheen that some people like in kitchens because it looks crisp when clean. Both are easy to mop. Our notes on caring for vinyl floors cover cleaners to avoid.

What should you check before installing?

Pale planks make subfloor dips, uneven seams and gaps at the baseboard easier to spot, so flatness and clean trim work matter more than with a busy, dark floor. Over a concrete slab you can float or glue down any floor here. Run the planks along the longest wall or toward the main window. Our guide to subfloor leveling explains what flat really means.

Do light vinyl floors turn yellow?

Quality vinyl is made to resist fading, but strong direct sun can change any floor covering over time. Rubber-backed mats can also discolor vinyl, so many manufacturers recommend mats labeled safe for vinyl. Check the care guidance for your product.

Does light flooring work with white cabinets?

It can, as long as there is enough contrast that the room does not wash out. A blonde with visible grain, or a warmer beige, next to bright white cabinets usually looks more deliberate than a pale gray-white.

Is light vinyl plank good with pets?

Light floors hide hair from blond and gray animals and show fine scratches less than dark floors. Vinyl also copes with accidents better than wood, as long as you clean up promptly.
