Installation Guide
Installation Methods
Floating
Use when a quick installation is needed over concrete or existing floors. Ensure an underlayment is used, and leave a 1/4" expansion gap around the room perimeter.
Glue Down
Suitable for a more permanent installation over a flat, dry subfloor. Use a high-quality adhesive and follow proper trowel size and spread rate instructions.
Nail Down
Ideal for wooden subfloors. Use 1-1/2" to 2" nails or staples, spaced every 6" to 8" along the plank.
Site Requirements
- Temperature: Maintain a temperature range between 60°F and 80°F for at least 48 hours before, during, and 48 hours after installation.
- Humidity: Keep humidity levels between 30% and 50% to prevent the hickory from expanding or contracting.
- Preparation: Ensure HVAC systems are operational for at least 7 days prior to installation. All windows and doors should be installed and closed to maintain the environment.
