Installation Guide
Installation Methods
Floating
Ideal for areas where subfloor cannot be permanently altered. Use an underlayment for sound reduction and vapor barrier, ensuring 1/4 inch expansion space around the perimeter. Limit room dimension to 30 feet in either direction without expansion joints.
Glue Down
Suitable for concrete subfloors. Use urethane adhesive with a V-notch trowel. Follow manufacturer’s working and cure times, and apply a moisture barrier if needed.
Nail Down
Best for wood subfloors. Use 1 1/2 inch cleats or staples with a pneumatic nailer, spacing every 8 inches. Ensure air pressure is set to avoid damaging the flooring.
Site Requirements
- Temperature: Maintain room temperature between 60°F and 80°F (15°C and 27°C) for 48 hours before, during, and after installation.
- Humidity: Ensure humidity levels are between 30% and 50% to prevent expansion or contraction.
- Preparation: Ensure HVAC systems are operational for at least 7 days prior to installation. Keep lighting adequate and secure all windows and doors to prevent drafts.
Required Tools
Essential Tools:
Tape measure, chalk line, rubber mallet, saw (miter or table), hammer, pry bar, and level.
