Installation Methods
Floating
Use when subfloor is not suitable for adhesive or nails. Lay down underlayment, leave a 1/4 inch gap for expansion, and ensure room dimensions do not exceed 30x30 feet.
Glue Down
Best for concrete subfloors. Use recommended adhesive with a 1/4 inch trowel, allowing 24 hours to cure. Ensure a moisture barrier is in place.
Nail Down
Ideal for wooden subfloors. Use 1-1/2 inch flooring nails, spacing them every 6-8 inches. Maintain an air pressure setting of 70-90 PSI.
Site Requirements
- Temperature: Maintain a consistent temperature range between 60-80°F for at least 48 hours prior to installation.
- Humidity: Ensure relative humidity levels are between 30-50% to avoid expansion or contraction of the flooring.
- Preparation: Ensure HVAC systems are operational for at least 7 days prior to installation. Adequate lighting should be provided to inspect and install the flooring. Doors and windows should be sealed to prevent moisture intrusion.
