Installation Methods
Floating
Use this method for rooms with stable climate conditions. Ensure a vapor barrier underlayment is in place and leave a 3/8 inch expansion gap around the perimeter. Room dimensions should not exceed 30 feet in any direction without additional expansion joints.
Glue Down
Suitable for concrete subfloors. Use a high-quality adhesive compatible with engineered hardwood. Follow trowel specifications and allow 24-48 hours for the adhesive to cure. Ensure a moisture barrier is applied if required.
Nail Down
Ideal for wood subfloors. Use 1-1/4 inch flooring staples or cleats with a pneumatic nailer set to 70-90 psi. Space fasteners every 6-8 inches along the board length.
Site Requirements
- Temperature: Maintain room temperature between 60°F and 80°F for at least 48 hours before, during, and after installation.
- Humidity: Keep relative humidity levels between 30% and 50% to prevent expansion or contraction of the flooring.
- Preparation: Ensure HVAC systems are operational for at least 5 days prior to installation and that all windows and doors are installed and closed. Lighting should be adequate for detailed work.
