Installation Methods
Floating
Use this method on subfloors that are clean, dry, and level. Lay an appropriate underlayment and leave a 1/4 inch expansion gap around the perimeter. Ideal for rooms up to 25x30 feet.
Glue Down
Select a high-quality adhesive suitable for vinyl, apply with a trowel as per manufacturer’s specifications. Ensure subfloor moisture is controlled and allow 24 hours for curing.
Nail Down
Not recommended for vinyl sheet installations. Consider alternative methods like floating or glue-down for better results.
Site Requirements
- Temperature: Your room should be maintained between 65°F and 85°F (18°C and 29°C) for at least 48 hours before, during, and after installation.
- Humidity: Keep indoor humidity levels between 30% and 50% to prevent any potential expansion or contraction issues.
- Preparation: Ensure that HVAC systems are operational at least 48 hours prior to installation, doors and windows should be closed to maintain consistent environmental conditions, and proper lighting is available for detailed work.
